Uday Hussein was the older of Saddam's two sons from his first marriage, and was notorious for his cruel and psychopathic behavior. As head of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, he ordered the torture of athletes who did not perform to his desire. He was personally involved in the assassination of his two brothers-in-law.
On July 23, 2003, information provided by a source led to the location of Uday and Qusay Hussein. With assistance from the 101st Airborne Division, Task Force 20 conducted an operation to capture these individuals. A four hour firefight ensued, which resulted in the deaths of Uday and Qusay Hussein.
The Rewards for Justice program issued a reward for the information leading to the location of Uday and Qusay Hussein.
